Jewish Short Stories from Eastern Europe and Beyond Ten CD Set

Complete boxed set of ten CDs

Thirteen hours of classic and modern Jewish stories by renowned authors—among them, Sholem Aleichem, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Grace Paley, Cynthia Ozick, I. L. Peretz, and Philip Roth—read by top stars of stage and screen, including Leonard Nimoy, Jeff Goldblum, Eli Wallach, Elliot Gould, Rhea Perlman, Jerry Stiller, Mayim Bialik, Alan Alda, and Lauren Bacall, with an introduction by Leonard Nimoy. Originally broadcast on National Public Radio, the series was a co-production of the Yiddish Book Center and KCRW in Santa Monica.

“Whether through humor, tragedy—or, as is more often the case, equal measures of both—[these stories] struggle with a common question: What does it mean—what can is possibly mean—to live as a Jew in the modern world?”

— Leonard Nimoy, introduction.
